Wireless connection now available in the department
The Johns Hokins University deploys an 802.11 a/b/g 56mbps compliant wireless LAN (local area network) which is now available in the following locations in the department: the seminar room (Mergenthaler 526), the computer lab (Mergenthaler 534), most student carrels. Instructions on how to set up the wireless connection on your laptop as well as a list of all access points around campus can be found here.
Connect to the "Hopkins" wireless network if you intend to use any of the lab resources (shared drives or printers) otherwise connect to "JHGuestNet".
Anti-virus:
Johns Hokins University holds a Hopkins-wide site license for Symantec's Norton AntiVirus, which is available for all major operating systems.
Faculty, staff, and students of The Johns Hopkins University and The Johns Hopkins Health System may download (http://it.jhu.edu/antivirus) and use this software on computers that are owned by the University or Health System, or on computers that they personally own.
Personal use of the software offered here must cease when the faculty, staff, or student leaves the University or Health System.

VPN Access
JHSecure is the Hopkins Remote Access Solution. JHSecure is a flexible IPSec based remote access VPN solution, which allows members of the Hopkins communities to access computer resources located at Hopkins from remote locations.
